Junior College Curriculum

We follow the CAPS Curriculum as prescribed by the Department of Basic Education of South Africa. However, we are a Multiple Intelligence School and focus on catering for the different intelligences in the classroom. We therefore add learning material that is needed and train our teachers accordingly on a frequent basis.  We are not bound or limited by the CAPS curriculum. 

Foundation Phase caters for learners from Grade R-3.

Gr 1-3 subjects consists of:

• Life Skills
• Mathematics
• Home Language (English)
• First Additional Language (Afrikaans)

Intermediate Phase sees grades 4-6 being grouped together with the same subjects:

• Home Language (English)
• First Additional Language (AFrikaans)
• Mathematics
• Natural Science and Technology
• Social Science
• PSW (Personal and Social Well Being) which includes arts and physical education as well as Life Skills

Although the Grade 7 learners form part of the Senior Phase they are still very much part of the Junior College.  The following subjects are catered for:

• Home Language (English)
• First Additional Language (Afrikaans OR Setswana)
• Mathematics
• Social Science
• Creative Arts
• Natural Science
• Technology
• Economic and Management Science
• Life Orientation
