Our Values

1. CONSISTENCY

This value is as important as discipline. Everybody should know the Prestige Culture. We do not permit a misdemeanour one day and punish it the next.

2. HONESTY AND INTEGRITY

The College expects honest behavior in all areas of college life; formal and informal, curricular and extra-curricular. To copy someone’s work, to cheat in a test or exam or to take anything that does not belong to one are actions which will be severely punished.

3. RESPECT FOR SELF, FOR THE INDIVIDUAL AND FOR OTHERS

Without self-respect, individual growth is impeded. Prestige College shows respect to all its learners and staff. We accept and respect diversity and individuality. Learners and staff should always act in a polite and respectful manner. Learners and staff should always greet each other and visitors on the premises. Nobody will be allowed to insult anybody else as well as to use bad language.

4. CHALLENGED BY CHANGE AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

We live in an exciting era and therefore accept change as a common phenomenon. We are not bound by anything which can be changed to produce better results or which might not be to the benefit of our learners or parents or teachers. We have an open mind and a receptive attitude towards change. If change takes place, it should be for the better. Continuous improvement is therefore not only relevant to learners, but also to teachers and all other staff involved at Prestige College. Prestige learners and staff should always act within the value and culture framework of Prestige College which will in turn maintain the unique character of the College. The Word of God is our point of departure and foundation of all decisions.

5. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND TRANSPARENCY

One often finds that a lack of effective communication spawns a multitude of problems. We are very aware of that and therefore strive to establish effective communication channels. We further believe that an open and honest approach will erase any suspicion and will contribute towards maintaining sound relationships.

6. ACT IN A SAFE AND CLEAN ENVIRONMENT

We are living in a violent country but we are extremely blessed that our College is situated in a safe and secure environment, outside the city. The whole property is fenced in, with only one entrance which is guarded by a security guard 24 hours per day. Everybody is expected to clean the environment where he/she lives and learns.

7. DRIVE TO WIN : RESULTS-FOCUSED

People who come to Prestige demand more from life than the average person. We do not believe in mediocrity. We strive for excellence in whatever we do. We will only invest time, effort and money where we anticipate improved results. No money, time or effort will be wasted on things and issues that do not have the propensity of producing improved results.

8. ACTION-ORIENTATED

Nothing is going to happen if you do not make it happen! We teach learners not to sit around waiting for something to happen, but to take action.

9. COMMITTED TO PRESTIGE COLLEGE

If one is truly committed to someone or something, that commitment will imply loyalty and a readiness to defend the all-round well-being of the object of one’s commitment. We expect teachers, staff and learners to be committed to Prestige College and to what it stands for. To be loyal also means not to gossip or talk badly about one’s College, teachers or fellow pupils.

10. INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

That is part of our mission and therefore one of the most important aspects that makes our College special. Individuals must take responsibility for their own lives and actions, and also for the consequences. All people are personally accountable for their own actions. This principle is non-negotiable and applies to all.

11. PUNCTUALITY

Punctuality is a basic value and therefore teachers and learners are expected always to be on time for all appointments, classes or periods.

12. ETHOS AND VALUES

Every month we focus on a theme, Prestigian profile and a mindset. There is a weekly Bible verse that supports the theme.
