Local South African Curriculum
Completes a grade in one year
Subjects: must have Seven (7) Subjects from Grades 10 – 12
Must have two (2) languages until Grade 12
Flexible – The curriculum also features a flexible and self-paced learning approach
Higher order/ skills based questions
Cambridge curriculum may be considered more challenging due to it’s international and rigorous approach
Learners have two years to complete IGCSE and two years to complete AS Levels
IGCSE: Minimum five (5) subjects
AS Level: Minimum four (4) subjects
If learner is able to obtain a C for Setswana/Afrikaans in IGCSE at the end of Grade 11, they do not have to proceed with it to Grade 12
